bench to join a fight is automatically ejected and suspended. Any NHL player who ues a weapon of
any kind is also thrown out of the game. It's a tough sport!
But, if you look at it from a hockey fan’s point of view it's the ice hockey fights that make hockey and the NHL as exciting as it is. Professional hockey is different than any other sport in this way and that is why the NHL has so many loyal fans. Tickets to the games are sold for every team.
Fights bring excitement to the National Hockey League. Fights also make hockey a game for tough athletes. No wimpy players here. Many spectators think that the hockey fights are put on just to draw a bigger crowd to the arena, but this is not necessarily true.

A lot of people think that the NHL is too brutal and the rough fights are not a necessary part of the game. They may be right but hockey fights are a tradition and are here to stay. Fighting is as much a part of the NHL as peanuts and popcorn are part of the MLB. When you buy tickets to a hockey game, be ready for some action!
