The Lion King is now being performed across the nation. Get your tickets now to this amazing Broadway show performed at a theatre near you! This musical won 6 Tony Awards in 1998, including Best Musical. This year also marks the first time it will be performed in Washington, D.C., so if you are in the D.C. area, make sure you catch the performance at the Kennedy Center. The performance features music by Elton John and Tim Rice, including the songs "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "Circle of Life." The musical also features direction and costume design by Julie Taymor, mask and puppet design by Julie Taymor and Michael Curry, and choreography by Garth Fagan. The play is loosely based on the book by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi, with music and lyrics by Elton John and Tim Rice, and additional music and lyrics by Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, Julie Taymor, and Hans Zimmer.
