Pocono Raceway

Pocono Raceway in Pocono, Pennsylvania is a 2.5 mile super speedway that seats 76,812 NASCAR fans. This track is unique in that it is listed as a tri-oval but looks more like a triangle, with the first turn being the most banked. There are three separate infield sections of racetrack - North Course, East Course and South Course.

Although the track is long, restrictors are needed because of the sharp turns and low banking which make the overall speeds much lower than at other tracks of similar lengths. Some fans refer to Pocono Raceway as a kind of road course due to drivers having to shift gears to handle the range between the slowest curve and the fastest straightaway.

Pocono will only host two auto races, both for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series; the Subway Fresh Fit 500 in June, and the newly renamed Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 in August.

A great day out at a NASCAR race track like Pocono Speedway is always going to be worth your time. Huge numbers of fans are looking for Pocono race tickets, so get yours before it's too late.
