New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire is New England’s only super speedway for NASCAR. It is located on Rt.106, approximately 10 miles north of Concord. It is sometimes referred to as “The Magic Mile”. The track is 1.058 miles, and is an intermediate oval, boasting 91,000 seats for screaming NASCAR fans. New Hampshire Motor Speedway offers fans from New England, New York and Canada a NASCAR venue close to home on an unusual track that has been described as a larger version of Martinsville Speedway.
The Lenox Industrial Tools 300 in July and the Sylvania 300 Nascar race in September will be the NASCAR Sprint Cup series races in New Hampshire.
Meanwhile, the NASCAR Nationwide Series will hold the New England 200 in June and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will host the New Hampshire 200 there as well.
Just one week before NASCAR’s drivers and their entourages come to town, the tiny town of Loudon, New Hampshire has a population of only 4,481 people. During the week of its two Nascar races the population climbs to 100,000 people strong.
