Lowe's Motor Speedway - This 500-mile classic NASCAR race will once again run under the lights on a Saturday night in October. Lowe's Motor Speedway used to be call Charlotte Motor Speedway. It will the host of the Bank of America 500 Sprint Cup NASCAR race. Lowe's has a long and interesting history. Fast Track High Performance Driving School and The Richard Petty Driving Experience use the track extensively throughout the year.
The Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina is the first super speedway to host a night race. Built in 1959, it is a 1.5 mile, intermediate, D-shaped oval track with 165,000 seats. The NASCAR Sprint Cup series racers will visit Lowe’s Motor Speedway in May for the Nextel All-Star Challenge, and in October, for the Bank of America 500. The Carquest Auto Parts 300 in May and the Dollar General 300 in October are a part of the NASCAR Nationwide Series races.
